Caribbean Flair in Cartagena

Our last stop in Colombia was Cartagena. We only stayed one night in this colourful city but enjoyed the warm sea breeze and caribbean flair even more.

In Cartagena we stayed in a beautiful hostel called Republica in the historic center. We joined a free walking tour which starts at the Torre de Reloj in the late afternoon. We then walked along the peer, looking over the sea. For dinner we enjoyed great food at La Mulata Restaurant. The next morning we visited Fuerte de San Felipe de Barajas. It’s a huge historic monument from which one can oversee the city and the ocean. What we most enjoyed about our stay though, was strolling through endless streets of colonial houses of all colours.
